Our Story

Overview

Season’D is a local café and bistro on the second floor of the Market at Western Fair District. The Market is home to farmers, growers, butchers, artisans and more. It is our privilege to have access to so many great producers and such great products and we’re lucky to have the opportunity to operate in this amazing space.

Season’D brings together the best of the Market, the best local producers and act as an outlet for culinary creativity. Food is done in small batches; local and seasonal. The product that we sell isn’t the food and it’s not the beverage. It’s everything rolled into one, it’s the overall experience.

Our food and beverage are all about the dedication to local and about showcasing local producers. Our coffee comes from trusted sources and we only sell responsibly and ethically produced products. Season’D is all about people. The people that produce what we sell and the people we sell it to. At the end of the day, our dedication is to the guest and creating the best possible experience for every single one, whether they order a single coffee or spend hundreds of dollars a week, every guest we serve should receive best-in-class hospitality.

Mission

To elevate the coffee culture here in The Market by offering high-quality, local and seasonal food & beverage items.

Vision

To be a local bistro that supports local producers and artisans by providing insanely good meals & cups of coffee.

Values

The local food economy and local agriculture are our driving forces. Respect, goodwill, hard work, quality and accountability are cornerstones of our brand.

A Piece of Old East London’s History

In 1887, the Western Fair Association became a corporation and built exhibition buildings on Queens Park. The main building at Western Fair was a huge wood and glass structure called The “Crystal Palace”. It unfortunately would later be lost in a fire in January of 1927. Its replacement was The Confederation building. The red brick Confederation building began as a place for local merchants to sell a diversity of wares. Today, the Confederation building is home to The Market.

Watch some of our artisans’ at work creating as you enjoy the ambiance of the historical Confederation Building and enjoy genuine Old East Village community life. The abundance of light and lofty ceilings of this historical building makes it an excellent place for: artisans, artists’ studios, musicians and crafts people alike. The market is both an entertaining and educational venue for the whole family.
